PowerServe to create Austrim Textiles B2B site
Melbourne, Australia (February 27th 2000) PowerServe, a provider of global software solutions, have developed an innovative business-to-business (B2B) online ordering solution for Austrim Textiles, Australia’s largest publicly listed textile company to provide an easy method for organisations to purchase Austrim stock online.

The solution, the Austrim Stock Service System, has been developed by PowerServe to cater for the varying requirements of Austrim Textile’s high profile national clientele, including Coles Myer, David Jones and Spotlight, utilising the latest Internet technologies.

“The impact and value the online ordering solution has provided Austrim Textiles has been staggering,” said Austrim Corporate Projects Manager, Ms Justine Walker.

“Our investment in PowerServe’s business-to-business commerce expertise has opened a whole new set of business opportunities and has allowed us to significantly improve the quality of service we offer.”

The site –, which is hosted by PowerServe, provides a comprehensive online listing of the entire Austrim product range, offering the organisation’s clientele with a complete order fulfilment process, an online catalogue and visual sample fabric swathes.

For Austrim Textiles, the benefit of revolutionising the organisations ordering process has been significant, superceeding traditional stock order methods with an exciting online shopping experience based on client service and quality.

Austrim Textile clients can now browse stock online, enter an order based on meterage and then have the option to watch the progress of the order as it is processed by Austrim Textiles online.

Users of the site can browse the various products available, adding their purchases to an online shopping basket, while also viewing associated links to the materials ordered. The solution also has an integrated management feature for staff to fulfil and dispatch order requirements.

PowerServe Managing Director, Mr Rob van der End said: “In developing a high quality business-to-business solution, Austrim Textiles now have the right tool to offer a range of choices to their valued clientele, offering both breadth and value in service choice and delivery.”

The site has been developed using Microsoft Site Server technology.

As a global software solutions company, PowerServe’s aim is to provide technologically advanced solutions which maximise the growing demands of the dynamic online community. The website developed for Austrim Textiles to manage online ordering, demonstrates this strategy.
